Firepower: Pacquiao vs Cotto (Lo-Diyes)

On Nov. 14, 2009 (Nov 15-Phil. time) Las Vegas, the sports world will once again witness a worth-your-buck prime clash. Two of the best fighters of today , Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, will set foot on the same ring and would definitely annihilate each other in HBO's PPV dubbed Firepower.

Pacquiao is at the peak of his career right now. The ascend was not easy. He had to demolished tough legends in the likes of Marco Antonio Barrera and Eric Morales. He was squared well by Juan Manuel Marquez but he still emerged as the superior between the two. When he moved up in the welterweight ranks, he dominates no less than Oscar Dela Hoya. He surprised the skeptics and proved his caliber against doubters when he floored a top-notch welterweight Ricky Hatton.

He now faces a tougher warrior in Miguel Cotto. A natural and powerful welterweight fighter with a lot of heart. Pacquiao's skills are working in all cylinders right now. This time I will not have doubt that Pacman can floor Cotto. He moves fast with rhythm (footwork and head movement baby), and couple that with reeking power. What else would you look for a fighter. Also, Cotto always had troubles with southpaw and speedy fighters.

Cotto needs to establish a good footing on the mat before he throws up that powerful punch. Before he knows it, Pacquiao could already be on his other side and the next time he see is a hook or a straight or worst a killer uppercut to the jaw. Pacquiao on the other hand throws punches even when his moving backwards or sidewards.

But what can Cotto do to have a chance on this much? He has to hit Pacquiao. He has to hit Pacquiao a lot and hard. On how would he do this is his and his team to figure out.

Mayweather vs Marquez

September 19, 2009 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT

Don't miss another blockbuster in the making and what-could-be the fight of the year spectacle showdown between two warriors who look forward not only to this battle but also hopeful to step in the same ring with our very own hero Manny Pacquiao. Well Marquez already got his chance twice but not quite good enough to stand the onslaught from the world's best pound for pound fighter.

Going back to this match, (Pacquiao has another prey to dispatch before pondering on these two eggheads)... This match is a close one to call. If Mayweather Jr wasn't coming from idle time, this match could pretty well go his favor. And does he really think that Marquez is that inferior to make him like a warm-up before he takes on Manny? Come on pretty boy. Oh well Floyd may say otherwise. That he really needs a tough primer before stepping on the ring with Manny.

Marquez on the other hand has his gears running well but needs more luck if he really wants to pursue Pacquiao. Maybe fate is already helping him following an awfully dreadful path. He's got the heart of a champion and now is another time that he's there on top to prove that he belongs in the same pool with the greatest fighters of today.

By the way, this PPV shouldn't be entitled "Number One". Obviusly they're fighting for number two behind by need-not-to-mention Pacman!
